Participate in Broad Sword Workshop

Join the The Sword Conservatory for the demonstration of Scottish weapons in non-choreographed duels! The Scottish swordsmen will demonstrate various weapon techniques, including Scottish broadsword, small sword and dirk.

The Scottish basket-hilted broadsword was the basic armament of the Highland clans and later, the Scottish regiments of the British army. In this workshop, you will receive hands-on instruction on the basics of attacks and defense using the Scottish Basket-Hilt as described in Henry Angelo’s 1799 manual for the British Army. You will learn some of the drills that were done to practice these basics. Finally, you will put your skills to the test in sparring against instructors from The Sword Conservatory

Participate in Scottish Heavy Stone Challenge 

Join us to test your strength in this historical event.

Scottish heavy stone challenges, deeply rooted in Highland history and strength culture, involve lifting, carrying, or pressing notoriously awkward, natural, or reinforced stones. 

The Mystic Scottish Heavy Stone Challenge will involve lifting 3 Atlas stones of different weights and placing them on top of a whiskey barrel. The first stone wins you a rocks glass , second stone wins you a cocktail and the third stones wins you a bottle of mystic bourbon, vodka or gin. 

Women's Weights: 100lbs, 175lbs, 300lbs 

Men's Weights: 175lb 300lbs, 400lbs

Event Time: 12:30 pm

Price: $20 per participant

Participate in Clan Tug of War 

Join us to test your strength in this historical event.

Tug of war in Scotland has roots as a traditional strength contest at Highland Games, evolving into a highly successful, organized sport. Founded in 1980, the Scottish Tug of War Association (STOWA) formally developed the amateur code, transitioning from local games to competitive indoor/outdoor international championships. Scotland is now a global powerhouse in the sport. 

6 teams of 6 competitors will compete to win prizes. Prizes will be awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd place. You many sign up as an individual or team. This event is free, but reservations are required.

Participate in Haggis Eating Contest 

Join us to test your your belly by eating Scotland's most famous dishes. 

Haggis, Scotland’s national dish, is a savory pudding of minced sheep’s offal, oatmeal, suet, and spices, traditionally cooked in a sheep's stomach. While iconic to Scotland since the 18th century, its origins likely stem from ancient practices of boiling, chopping, and casing animal innards to prevent waste.  

There is a limit of 10 participants.

Prize will be awarded to the winning competitor.
