ABOUT OUR BEEF

 Every time Mystic Farm and Distillery makes a batch of bourbon from the corn and wheat we grow in Hillsborough, we have over 10,000 pounds of spent mash left over. The spent mash is incredibly nutritious livestock feed. For the past few years we’ve been providing it to Scott Thigpen to feed his cattle on his farm in Beulaville. Now the process comes full circle as we begin selling this mash-fed beef. 

The cows are humanely processed under USDA supervision in a Temple Grandin-designed facility about 50 minutes from our Farm. The richly-marbled cuts and savory burgers will delight your friends and family! Pair these on the grill with our stave chunks - actual pieces of our bourbon barrels that release oak smoke and trapped whiskey when you put them into a smoker box (propane grill) or directly on charcoal. We also have our locally-made Mystic BBQ Sauce, blended with Mystic Bourbon Liqueur and spices. We are very proud to produce world-class spirits and beef from the rich grain we grow in North Carolina’s Piedmont.

Please be aware that our beef is for in-store pickup only. We do not ship any of our products at this time. All purchases must be picked up within 30 days of ordering. After 30 days Mystic cannot guarantee a refund and may return the products to inventory for sale. All weights are approximate - beef is sold by the package, not by weight.
